        April Newsletter

Grace and peace be unto each of you. May God's blessings be found in every church that is a part of this body.

This month is the pinnacle of the Christian faith as we excitingly celebrate our Risen Savior in what the world calls Easter and the church Resurrection Sunday. If it had not been for the love of a loving God Yahweh we would be in a devastated and eternally lost state. I pray that all your services that commemorate this Resurrection are blessed and on a Spirit filled and led.

April also brings the celebration of our Annual Mid Year Session, which will be held on April 18, 2026 at the hour of 10:00am, at the KEMBA Center. the guest preacher of the morning will be our General Baptist Sate Convention of NC president, Dr. Ricky L Banks as he concludes his tenure as the most effective president of our time. We ask that all members of the KEMBA choir and members that would love to sing with them during this hour. the Moderator will also present an address of the state of the Association. There will be one voting item on the agenda that day.

The youth Empowerment trip that was postponed in January has been rescheduled for Saturday June 6, 2026, departing KEMBA at 8:00am for the Civil Rights Museum in Greensboro, North Carolina.

We are excited about our most recent funding grant award from Four County for our youth development and ministries. Thanks to our Chairman of Trustees Antron Hayes for seeking those funds.

Finally, one of my commitments as the Moderator coming in was not to continuously bombarding churches for money without receiving support. The Association is not an entity that has continual funds at their pleasure, the constituent churches support the association through their required membership assessments and donations. My platform to seek grant funding, continued rental income, and philanthropist contributions does not eliminate your financial responsibilities. Some of our constituents haven't contributed as they have committed. The building of a new sanctuary as some want can not happen with the financial trickles of income. So I am committed to finishing strong with continued outside sources of income, but there is a duty from each church. Your contributions help the continued and committed work of the  association. Training, support, and guidance is always available to your church, the only requirement is the ask.

KEMBA Leadership will continue to serve its people.

        Rev. Dr. Michael McDougald, Moderator

        Campaign 1200 or Campaign 365

The future aspirations of many long-standing members include constructing a main worship sanctuary as their contribution to the KEMBA Center and its mission of spiritual empowerment. To realize this vision, our association must establish a stable financial portfolio that ensures a consistent flow of income over the next 3–5 years.

We are inviting as many churches and members as possible to participate in this community service initiative by committing to either $100 monthly or $1.00 daily, known as Campaign 1200 or 365. Please make checks payable to KEMBA and note the destination in the memo line. Thank you.

        Purpose of Joint Usher Sessions

The move to Joint Usher sessions at the KEMBA Center was a vision and guidance given through much prayer and supplication. On the 5th Sunday, our great association is divided in three ways: a Northern session, a Southern session, and churches that engage in community service with 5th Sunday worship. This transition will unify our association into a two-way divide. Ultimately, I would love to see the session convene on the 5th weekend, either Friday or Saturday, thus allowing each church the freedom to set their worship as it sees fit for the 5th Sunday, fostering spiritual empowerment within our community.
